The fastest safe path to get back up and running

We are currently the only provider offering a like-for-like GetAddress-compatible endpoint. In most cases, you can get back online by changing only two things:

• Your base URL

• Your API key

This is the fastest safe path to migrate quickly without rewriting your implementation. It may be temporary, but it is designed to get you stable first. Get the compatibility integration working first so you are operational again, then we can help you switch to the native Ideal Postcodes APIs for the best long-term setup.

Step 1: Sign up and grab your API key

Create an Ideal Postcodes account here and to receive your API key. You will use this key in place of your existing getAddress key.

Step 2: Change the URL

Update your integration to use our GetAddress-compatible base URL. Details are on the documentation here.

Step 3: Replace the API key

Replace your existing api-key value with your new Ideal Postcodes API key.

Ideal Postcodes uses a credit-based pay-as-you-go model. 

• More flexible than a fixed monthly plan: you are not forced into a “use it or lose it” monthly allowance. You can purchase any number of credits.

• Credits last 12 months: useful if your usage is seasonal or inconsistent

• Automated top-ups: you can enable auto top-ups so your service never unexpectedly stops. When your credit balance drops below 10% of your chosen threshold, a top-up is triggered automatically so you do not have to keep monitoring it manually.
