Ideal Postcodes is now the official address validation extension
We've teamed up with Microsoft Dynamics to add postcode lookup to Business Central. The extension is built natively within the platform, meaning no additional software or complex configuration is required. This will be shipped to all Business Central users in the UK and Republic of Ireland by default in release 28.

New customers get Business Central version 28.0 automatically.

Existing customers are notified when update 28.0 is available. Admins can schedule update 28.0 to any date within the 5-month update period, which ends on August 31, 2026.
The extension works across all address fields, whether you're updating customer records, creating quotes, or processing orders. Enabling the address validation feature takes only a few clicks. You'll find the extension under Service Connections in Business Central settings, where you simply add your Ideal Postcodes API key to get started.
Going forward, this will be co-maintained and supported by both Microsoft and Ideal Postcodes.
If you were using GetAddress.io
If you relied on the GetAddress.io extension in Business Central, postcode lookup may have stopped working following GetAddress's service discontinuation on 4 February 2026. Microsoft will retire this extension, at which point you will need a replacement in place.
The Ideal Postcodes extension is available now and already trusted by thousands of businesses.
